ProCell Microchanneling Skin Treatment

Transform Your Skin with Cutting-Edge Technology

ProCell Therapies Microchanneling is an advanced, non-invasive skin rejuvenation treatment designed to improve the texture, tone, and elasticity of your skin. Using the latest biotechnology, this treatment induces a powerful skin transformation with results that can last a lifetime.

What is ProCell Microchanneling?

ProCell Microchanneling is a cutting-edge skincare treatment designed to rejuvenate your skin and promote natural healing. Often referred to as the next generation of microneedling, this innovative therapy uses precise microchannels to stimulate your body’s natural ability to produce collagen and elastin. By incorporating advanced stem cell technology, ProCell delivers transformative results, helping clients achieve smoother, firmer, and more youthful-looking skin without invasive procedures or downtime.

This treatment is highly versatile, making it ideal for addressing a wide range of skin concerns, such as fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, melasma, stretch marks, and overall skin tone and texture. With ProCell Microchanneling, clients experience long-lasting improvements that enhance their natural beauty and confidence.

How Does ProCell Work?

ProCell Microchanneling combines the power of advanced technology with the science of regenerative skincare to deliver remarkable results. Here’s how it works:

Microchannels

The process begins with the creation of microscopic channels in the skin using a state-of-the-art ProCell device. These microchannels are designed to be minimally invasive, triggering your skin’s natural healing response. The stimulation encourages your body to produce new collagen and elastin, which are essential components for maintaining firm and youthful skin.

Stem Cell Growth Factors

During the treatment, a proprietary bioengineered stem cell serum is applied to the skin. This serum is enriched with powerful growth factors and cytokines, specifically formulated to enhance skin regeneration. These growth factors work in harmony with the microchanneling process to repair damaged skin, promote cellular turnover, and restore a healthy, radiant complexion.

Collagen Production

As your skin begins to heal, it naturally produces more collagen and elastin. This process helps to fill in fine lines, smooth out uneven texture, and firm sagging skin. Over time, clients notice visible improvements in their skin’s appearance and overall health.

Fighting Sun Damage with DNA Repair Enzymes

ProCell delivery serums also now contain DNA repair enzymes to address one of the most prevalent daily skincare issues: sun damage. Even when you don’t get sunburned, your skin can still experience the negative effects of UV exposure. Sun damage can cause unsightly wrinkles and dark “sun spots” and accelerate the skin aging process. Sunscreen is a powerful preventative tool, but it can’t reverse the effects of sun damage.

Customisation

ProCell treatments are fully customisable to address each client’s unique needs and concerns. Whether you’re targeting acne scars, sun damage, or ageing skin, the treatment can be tailored to deliver optimal results.

How Does ProCell Differ from Other Microneedling Treatments?

The ProCell device is a new-generation, award winning device, that utilises surgical-grade steel filaments small enough to fit into hair follicles. Due to the device’s stamp like precision, the protocol does not call for a dragging action that may lead to skin tears and more damage than necessary. Utilising a tapping technique, it minimises skin injury, while the cell renewal process is still as effective. Because of these advantages the ProCell Microchanneling devices are better suited to most skin conditions and for all Fitzpatrick skin types.

Although the art of Microchanneling is innovative, the pairing of this practice with stem cell derived growth-factor and cytokine serums is the secret to further raising the treatment outcomes to a much higher level.

As we age, our natural stem cells diminish and by middle age, only a small percentage remain, and those remaining are less robust.

The most popular serums used with traditional microneedling are usually ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and salicylic acid. However, they are less effective at cell-to-cell communication. The stem cell-derived growth factors and cytokines contained in the ProCell Microchanneling serum support cellular renewal. The bioactive signalling molecules amplify cell-to-cell communication which stimulates pre-exisiting cells to greater levels of function in order to facilitate skin rejuvenation.

The ProCell delivery system is derived from Recombinant growth factors which are lab-produced proteins that present a more effective and consistent alternative to human growth factors derived from mesenchymal stem cells.

There is no human tissue, DNA, blood or cells so it is 100% safe with no therapeutic claims made.

The Dermascope award winning new-generation ProCell Microchanneling devices and tips are on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) as well as the New Zealand Medicines and Medical Devices Safety Authority on the Web Assisted Notification of Devices (WAND) database.

What are ProCell Growth Factors

ProCell growth factors are bioengineered proteins designed to stimulate cellular regeneration and repair in the skin. These growth factors are often used in skincare treatments and products to promote healthier skin, improve texture, and reduce signs of ageing.

Here’s an overview of what they typically do:

  1. Stimulate Cell Renewal: Growth factors encourage the production of new skin cells, helping to repair damaged skin and improve overall skin health.
  2. Boost Collagen and Elastin: They can stimulate fibroblasts (cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin), which helps improve skin firmness, elasticity, and reduce wrinkles.
  3. Aid Wound Healing: Growth factors are involved in the natural healing process, making them effective in repairing skin damage caused by conditions like acne, sun exposure, or ageing.
  4. Improve Skin Tone and Texture: By encouraging cell turnover and collagen production, they can even out skin tone and smooth the skin’s surface.

In professional treatments, ProCell growth factors are sometimes applied topically to enhance the treatment’s effectiveness. The combination of microchanneling (which creates micro-channels in the skin) and growth factors allows for better absorption and maximises results.

ProCell Therapies Microchanneling Candidacy

ProCell Microchanneling FAQs

What is Micro-Channeling?

Microchanneling is a non-invasive procedure designed to stimulate your body’s own natural ability to generate collagen, elastin, and other building blocks of healthy skin. By stimulating the outermost layers of the skin, microchanneling can help your body start this process without penetrating into living tissue. This is more of a stamping method versus a the traditional needling style of dragging or rolling on the skin. Previous methods such as micro-needling often tear the skin, increasing the risk of scarring, infection and added time on recovery.

How Does Stem Cell Therapy Work?

The growth factors in the serum promote cellular renewal and healing. When the microchanneling device creates tiny skin injuries, stem cells and cytokines help repair the skin, boosting collagen production and improving skin texture.

What skin conditions can be treated with Microchanneling?

ProCell Therapies Microchanneling can achieve long-lasting improvements for a number of skin conditions including fine lines and wrinkles, acne scarring, pigmentation issues (such as sunspots), skin tone, surgical scars, rosacea, melasma, large pore size, stretch marks, skin tightening, overall skin rejuvenation and even hair loss.

Who can have microchanneling?

As ProCell Microchanneling treatments are non-ablative (minimally invasive), they are also safe for all skin types. Whether you are fair-skinned or dark, and even if you experience chronic breakouts, properly conducted microchanneling treatments will not result in hyperpigmentation, keloid scars, or other lasting negative side effects.

Contraindications are – Pregnancy, Uncontrollable Diabetes, Active Herpes Simplex in the treatment area, Dry Skin and any active inflammatory skin condition e.g. eczema, psoriasis, infection, rash or any type of dermatitis at the treatment site as it may aggravate the condition.

What length of needle should I use on my skin?

It is always better to start with the 0.25mm tip depth. For the most part, you will be very comfortable with the 0.25mm. After the first procedure, you can graduate up to the 0.5mm as results will typically be more substantial. If you are very uncomfortable with the 0.5mm tip at that point, you can always come back down to 0.25mm. For hair regrowth treatments these are all done at 0.5mm as this is the optimal depth to stimulate collagen production, blood flow to your scalp and stimulation of stem cells.

Does it hurt and do I need numbing cream?

Most people experience mild discomfort, with sensations described as a light pinprick or tingling, especially on sensitive areas like the forehead and lips. There is also no lingering discomfort and most people report a “tight” feeling in their skin post-treatment. For the 0.25mm tip, numbing cream is usually not required. For longer lengths, some clients prefer numbing cream and it can be used without impacting the overall result. Numbing cream is not used for Hair Regrowth treatments.

How long is the downtime?

With 0.25mm and 0.5mm needles it typically only takes a few hours for all redness to disappear (sometimes less). For 1.0mm and 1.5mm this could stretch out to a few days for all pinpoint scabbing to disappear. ProCell’s Microchannel Delivery Serum—with growth factors and stem cytokines —also produces an anti-inflammatory wound healing cascade to further minimise downtime.

Traditional micro-needling treatments can take between 3-5 days to heal whilst Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) can lead to oedema (swelling) or bruising at the site of injection, post-treatment which can last between 3 to 7 days.

How should my face look immediately following a treatment?

There is a very wide range of normal reactions. Anything from little to no reaction, to a deep red flush, to pinpoint bleeding for longer lengths is normal. As this is a non-ablative procedure, more extreme reactions do not necessarily correspond to more extreme results. In general, with a 0.25mm or 0.5mm tip, you will usually see a pink or red “flush.” Your ProCell Practitioner will also provide you with post-treatment guidelines to optimise your response to the treatment.

How long should I wait in between treatments?

4 weeks in between irrespective of needle depth and treatment area.

How many treatments should I do?

The number of treatments ranges greatly depending on what we are treating. For light anti-ageing and skin rejuvenation, 2-3 treatments may be sufficient. For deeper wrinkles and acne scarring, 5 or more treatments may be required to achieve desired results. Hair Regrowth treatments require a minimum of 6 treatments. There is no limit to the number of treatments that one can receive as long as adequate time passes in between each treatment.

How long until I can expect to see results?

You can sometimes see results from a single treatment very quickly but typically results become visible following your second treatment. Glowing skin from the MicroChannel Delivery Serum is noticeable almost immediately and for the few days following each treatment.

You can begin seeing neo-collagenesis (new skin formation) as soon as two weeks after a procedure. For hair regrowth, it can take up to nine months to see results, as hair follicles need to go from a resting phase to an active phase.

Can I combine this with other treatments?

Yes! Typically combining treatments will result in more aggressive treatments and longer downtimes but can yield impressive results. Some treatments such as a light microdermabrasion or light chemical peel can be performed right before MicroChanneling as long as the face is then cleaned before starting the MicroChanneling treatment. Do not perform any procedures that involve the use of any topical solutions immediately following MicroChanneling. Light therapy treatments are typically the only treatments recommended post Microchanneling. In general you should always check with your treatment provider first with questions on specific treatments.

What is in the ProCell delivery serums and aftercare products?

The PrCcell delivery system and aftercare system uses the power of recombinant (bioengineered) derived growth factors and cytokines to produce exceptional skin treatment results for clients of all ages and skin types. When applied to the skin, the skin mimics the effect of increased stem cells.
Using CRISPR sequencing technology, scientists can create microbiological cultures that generate proteins identical to those found in the human body: recombinant growth factors. These microbiological cultures allow scientists to produce growth factors with greater levels of precision and sustainability than traditional methods.

DNA repair enzymes are also included in both delivery serums and aftercare products to address one of the most prevalent daily skincare issues: sun damage.
The products are produced in a United States Food and Drug Administration compliant manufacturing facility, and have been on the market for over a decade. Two serum strengths are available for face and body treatments – The first is the PRO, whilst the second is the MD.

The MD Serums more advanced formulations of cytokines and contain double the concentration of growth factors compared to the PRO. The PRO serums are typically more suitable for individuals under 40, while MD treatments are recommended for anyone over 40.

The ProCell Aftercare Skin System is a complete, well-rounded, and comprehensive portfolio of ingredients that the skin requires and can utilise to maintain its ability to repair protect, and defend the skin from everything that ages us. It is a simple to use, two-step, Serum and Accelerator combo that contains both water soluble actives and lipid soluble actives.

We designed this system to be as simple as possible– two steps twice a day. Simplicity is what drives compliance, and compliance is what leads to beautiful, amazing, healthy results in skincare.

What’s the Difference Between ProCell Microchanneling and Micro-needling?

ProCell Microchanneling is often referred to as “Micro-needling Evolved.” While micro-needling also stimulates collagen production, ProCell uses advanced stem cell-derived growth factors for superior results. Additionally, ProCell’s device stamps the skin, minimising damage compared to traditional micro-needling.

How Long Will My Treatment Last?

Sessions generally last 90 minutes, depending on the treatment area.

What Should I Do After My Treatment?

  • Avoid touching your face for the first two hours.
  • Apply the recommended post-treatment serums for optimal results.
  • Avoid sun exposure and intense heat (sauna, gym, etc.) for the first 24 hours.
  • Do not use retinoids, vitamin C, or exfoliants for 5-7 days.

How long do ProCell Therapies Microchanneling results last?

The effects of the treatment can last anywhere from 2-10 years depending on clients age and lifestyle. Scheduled maintenance treatments can also assist in maximising results.

Do ProCell Therapies Microchanneling comply with current industry regulations?

The short answer is YES
The long answer is as follows:
Procell’s Microchanneling devices (both PRO and MD) and treatment tips are registered with both the Therapeutic Goods Administration of Australia (ARTG entry number 392111) and Medsafe New Zealand (WAND Reference: 220922-WAND-6ZSZ5G) as a Class 1 Medical Device.

Not all skin penetration devices are registered with the TGA or Medsafe so you may be breaching regulations by using a device to perform a treatment without this registration. Furthermore you will likely experience issues in receiving Professional Indemnity Insurance cover should anything go wrong during a treatment with your non-registered device.

ProCell’s recombinant (bio-engineered) growth factor serums comply with the Australian Industrial Chemicals Introduction Scheme (AICIS) with all ingredients matching existing Chemical Abstract Service (CAS) numbers required to achieve compliance. This is based on cosmetic use only with a skin penetration device and excludes injecting the serums.

With the increased use of allogenic growth factors (from different individuals of the same species) and xenogeneic (from another species) being used for regenerative aesthetic treatments clinics need to be mindful that a high percentage of these products have no compliance and furthermore can transmit Messenger Ribonucleic Acid (mRNA), Micro Ribonucleic Acid (miRNA) and Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) during a treatment which can alter the phenotype of the cell (what the cell was originally programmed to do). Non-compliant “stem cell” derived products are also starting to be not accepted by insurance companies adding further risk to clinics using these.
Recent changes restricting direct or indirect references to prescription-only medicines, including specific product names and the use of before and after photos in advertising do not apply to ProCell Therapies Microchanneling treatments.
